Hi Tibians,

welcome to the test server of the summer update 2025!

This thread is dedicated to the new hunting grounds introduced with the quest Between The Lines. These areas are designed primarily for solo players and offer a challenge comparable to the Lion Sanctum.

Crumbling Caverns
  • Cinder Wyrmling
  • Shell Drake

Book World
  • Bramble Wyrmling
  • Hawk Hopper
  • Bluebeak
  • Lion Hydra
  • Headwalker
  • Crusader

Each chapter in the Book World has a unique theme reflected in the monsters' appearances and attack styles. For instance, you will notice that some creatures deal elemental rather than physical damage in melee range.

In addition, we are introducing a new bestiary class: Inkborn. However, not only the new monsters from this quest will be featured in this bestiary class.
Many creatures from the Secret Library have also been re-classified as Inkborn.

If you want to make us aware of a balancing issue, please use the following template:

Title/Abstract: What's it about?
  • Provide a short and clear headline that captures the essence of your feedback.
Situation/Problem: In a nutshell, what bothers you and why?
  • Be specific, concise and to the point while giving enough detail for understanding.
  • Tell us about your own personal experiences, observations and your point of view.
Goals and Suggestions: What do you propose?
  • Explain what you want to see changed and why.
  • Make a reasonable suggestion on how to remedy the situation/problem.

In general, make sure that your feedback...
  • fits our overall goals/vision as described in the FAQ.
  • is split into focused and manageable chunks instead of mixing multiple balancing topics or suggestions together.
  • is posted in an organised, easy to read way.

We are looking forward to your feedback and wish you happy hunting!

Dear Tibians,

thank you for your feedback. At the moment, we are still collecting and evaluating your suggestions.

Any changes will be announced here in this thread, so please stay tuned.

Happy hunting,
Ilyndor
Dear Tibians,

thank you for your feedback on the new hunting grounds.

Potential balance changes are still being evaluated. In the meantime, I wanted to answer some of your questions.

Hey @Ilyndor

I know that this is not exactly tied to the hunting spots from the new quest.

But could we get the ink monsters right before Inkling boss into bestiary? Sure there's not that many of them but still for people that enjoy doing bestiary it would be a nice additional monster.
There are currently no plans to add the ink splash to the bestiary, due to the low number of them. They are meant to be more of a flavor monster that introduces you to the theme of the quest than as a regular hunting ground monster.

I don't know if there's some kind of graphical glitch, but they sometimes appear like this to me:

This should be fixed now, are you still encountering this issue?

Not sure if that topic is actually a good one but...

I feel like I am having troubles to find out which doors are Sealed ones and which one are normal ones.
I will forward your feedback, thank you.

For questions about the quest, please use the corresponding thread.

Best regards,
Ilyndor
Dear Tibians,

we hope you had a great weekend!

Today, I would like to share some upcoming changes to the new hunting grounds with you. These will go live on the testserver with one of the next patches.

  • The ink splash has now been added to the bestiary as a rare creature
  • The boss Inkwing will now summon vicious ink splashes instead of regular ones

Book World - Chapter II
  • Slightly reduced the frequency of hawk hopper's attacks

Book World - Chapter III
  • Increased monster density in some areas
  • Increased bluebeak's energy sensitivity: 90 -> 105
  • Increased lion hydra's energy sensitivity: 85 -> 100

Please try out these changes and let us know what you think.

On another note, we would like to ask you for feedback on the following topics:
  • Elemental melee damage by some creatures
  • Skill buff rune (sometimes appears when eliminating a crusader)

Have you noticed these features during your hunts? Did they influence your hunting behavior in any way?

Happy testing,
Ilyndor
Dear Tibians,

Thank you for your ongoing feedback.

While we are still considering adjustments to the hunting grounds, we have also made several changes to the boss fight against Sir Leonard to make it a bit more challenging:
  • Increased hit points: 18,000 -> 22,000
  • Sir Leonard can now increase the speed of both his Crusader Guardians and himself
  • Crusader Guardians will heal less, but now also heal other nearby monsters
  • Crusader Guardians can buff the melee damage of monsters in close proximity

Please try out these changes and let us know what you think.

Best regards,
Ilyndor
Dear Tibians,

we have also made the following adjustments to the hunting grounds:

  • added a magical bookmark in Chapter II near the teleport exit that allows you to jump directly back to Chapter I
  • added a new passage in the south-eastern part of Chapter IV to improve cycling

Please try out these changes and let us know what you think.

Best regards,
Ilyndor
Dear Tibians,

Thank you for your feedback and suggestions.

At this time, there are no plans to reclassify Sir Leonard as an Archfoe boss.

However, we have identified a bug that prevents Sir Leonard from receiving his intended defensive and offensive bonuses when Crusader Guardians are killed in close proximity to him.

We are currently working on a fix, though we cannot guarantee that it will make it to the test servers in time.

Best regards and happy weekend,
Ilyndor
Dear Tibians,

Before closing this thread, I would like to thank you once again for all your feedback on the new hunting grounds introduced in this update.

Of course, we will monitor these hunting grounds after launch and make further adjustments if needed.

Best regards, and until next time,
Ilyndor
